Job Description:
Responsible for the development of new business and expansion of existing relationships for loans and deposits with individuals, small businesses and other retail customers.
Develop and maintains revenue-generating client relationships by calling on prospective or existing customers, including identification of prospects, suitable method of contact, and determination of their needs and appropriate products or services.
Provides integrated delivery of financial services and products, including customized lending, treasury management, investment management, etc.
Actively participates with local community organizations to maximize networking and relationship building opportunities.
Discusses and cross-sells appropriate personal and small business financial products and services to new and existing customers.
Provides management with regular reports and updates on competitive market intelligence, market situations, customer needs and interests and the potential for new products and services.
Participates with management to plan business development opportunities.
Makes referrals to other departments as appropriate.
May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
Position may carry a working title of "Community Banker".
Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities - knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes. Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual required or job-specific training. May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. Responsible for other duties as assigned. Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words. Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate. Registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO)
This position may require you to act as a Bank MLO, which is defined as an individual authorized by the Bank to take mortgage loan applications, offer a mortgage, arrange a mortgage, assists a consumer in obtaining or applying to obtain a mortgage, negotiate a mortgage, otherwise obtain or make a mortgage for another person, represent to the public (through advertising or other means of communication) that such person can or will perform any of these activities; or, refer a consumer to a loan originator (Note: Except those employees of the Bank who do not discuss particular credit terms available and do not refer the consumer, based on the employee's assessment of the consumer's financial characteristics to a particular Bank MLO), for compensation or gain. All MLO's will be required to register as a MLO complying with the S.A.F.E. Act requirements.
This position is authorized to act as a Bank Closed-End MLO which is defined as any position designated to perform the activities of a Bank MLO for closed-end transaction, and therefore this position is limited to acting as a Bank MLO for open-end transactions (i.e., home equity lines of credit) only.
Bachelor's degree or related degree or prior business related experience and education.
5-8 years of relevant community banking experience or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of and experience in cash management, and/or commercial banking
Successful track record in direct selling and business development.
Ability to interpret financial statements and make recommendations and referrals.
Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, practices and documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel, and other business machines.
Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.
Valid Driver's License.
MLO Registration
Office environment with no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.
Frequent travel.
No relocation offered.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
